Uniform<\/h3>\n

Introduction:\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Woodlands International College expect the students to be neatly and appropriately dressed. A school uniform is a positive and effortless way to reduce discipline problems and increase school safety. Woodlands International College as an independent school that, has a prescribed dress code for students.<\/p>\n

PURPOSE OF WEARING A SCHOOL UNIFORM<\/b><\/p>\n

The wearing of uniforms has definite advantages:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Uniform clothing plays an important role in maintaining and instilling discipline in students and discipline at school.<\/li>\n
  2. It prevents children from disadvantaged households developing an inferiority complex because they are not as well-dressed as children from more affluent families.<\/li>\n
  3. In promotes unity and pride, which in turn leads to better achievements by the students.<\/li>\n
  4. The uniform allows students to participate in school activities with comfort, decorum and ensures that our students are easily identifiable, for safety reasons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In addition, a school uniform is also useful in:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Assisting school officials in the early recognition of persons not authorised to enter a school;<\/li>\n
    2. Helping parents and students resist peer pressure that leads students to make unnecessary demands for particular and often expensive clothing;<\/li>\n
    3. Decrease in theft, particularly of designer clothing, jewellery, and expensive footwear;<\/li>\n
    4. Helping students concentrate on their schoolwork; and<\/li>\n
    5. Showing sensitivity to age and gender.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Parents are to ensure that:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Items of the uniform are bought in the correct size and replaced when too small.<\/li>\n
      2. Items of uniform are worn in the original, approved width, length and colour.<\/li>\n
      3. Outside of College (i.e. travelling to or from College, in a public place) either full College uniform, full sports uniform or casual clothes be worn. Students should not mix and match any of this attire.<\/li>\n
      4. Parents are responsible for clearly marking all items of clothing with the student\u2019s name and present grade including socks, shoes and hats.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
