Golf has continued to rise in prominence at Woodlands. For the first time, the College is able to field three teams in the A, B and C Leagues. Not only has the number of golfers playing increased, but the quality of the golfing talent has also improved significantly. The golfers’ hard work and dedication has certainly paid off, with the following prestigious accolades having been garnered in the year under review:

League successes in 2017

The Central Gauteng Private Schools League

The Ekurhuleni Union Schools League

  • A-Team achieved 1st place in Ekurhuleni Schools League
  • A-Team achieved 5th place in Private Schools Premier League

Provincial successes in 2017

  • A-Team represented Ekurhuleni in the SA Schools Championship where they achieved 9th place (out of 29 schools)
  • Grant Ferreira and Liam van Deventer placed 2nd & 3rd respectively as individuals in the Ekurhuleni Schools League and received their Ekurhuleni Golf Union Colours
  • Hunter Walker; Liam van Deventer; Grant Ferreira; and Kyle Mendes all selected for Ekurhuleni Union Provincial Squads at Club Level
