Mini-Cricket is introduced to the Junior College students from Grade 1. Harnessing the skills learned in integrated sports, rotational teams are selected, and these children then participate in friendly Mini-Cricket matches against neighbouring schools.
Cricket is a relatively new sport at Woodlands, with the Junior College fielding a minimum of two teams annually, and which participate in the league: Under-9; Under-11; and Under-13.
A major highlight of our cricketing history was the guest appearance of Proteas cricketing legend “Vinnige” Fanie De Villiers, the South African fast bowler from the 1990s. Mr De Villiers delivered a highly motivating and inspiring talk to our young cricketers, which many of our Senior College cricketers still recall.
Our cricketers participate in the Easterns Primary Schools League in Term 2 and Term 3.
